A cute Poem

The turkey shot out of the oven
and rocketed into the air;

It knocked every plate off the table
and partly demolished a chair.

It ricocheted into a corner
and burst with a deafening boom,

Then splattered all over the kitchen,
completely obscuring the room.

It stuck to the walls and the windows,
it totally coated the floor;

There was turkey attached to the ceiling, where there'd never been turkey before.

It blanketed every appliance;
it smeared every saucer and bowl;

There wasn't a way I could stop it;
that turkey was out of control.

I scraped and I scrubbed with displeasure, and thought with chagrin as I mopped,

That I'd never again stuff a turkey
with popcorn that hadn't been popped!

Are we all sleeping???

"Cowardly terrorist attack in Mumbai just like 9/11"
"110 killed in Mumbai terror attack"

These are the headlines we saw in the last couple of days. Count yourself in those 110+ innocent people who died- people who were like you or me- people who were living their life as you and me do- people who went to these places as part of their daily lives.I say count yourself in those who are dead because tomorrow you or me will be at one of these places where the so called "cowards" (read terrorist) will be planning an attack, and there is no one who is going to help - not even the guys we vote and elect!!!!Help comes ones they decide whose credit(read vote bank) the whole thing goes too.... and yes your family will get a compensation, if they are lucky to survive- A few Lakhs from what we all give the government !!! irony is a victorious sports person gets crores and a soldier who dies fighting enemies of this land lakhs!!!

Yes India is angry every Indian is angry the way things are going around. The government who live on your and my taxes at the end of the day only has this to say - " this kind of things happen in big cities".The leaders who we elect even has the audacity to even say that "dogs" will not even go to a fallen soldiers home!!!

Fellow Indians where are we?? What are we up to?? Why are we just taking all this lying back??? Or do we really not care because we are not impacted - we didn't have anyone from our family who died to the bullets of these cowards or we didn't have a soldier brother who put his life at risk to save??? Are you really waiting to reality to hit your homes??? Brothers and sisters we don't have time to wait we need to wake up and fight back. Fight back the very system we support. Let these Public servants who live on our money realize that we need an accountability for the money we pay.Think it this way - when we work for others or employ others don't we hold ourself accountable or them accountable for all they have done??? Or is it that we don't care where our money goes??

Indian Managers are hired all over the world for their skills. We all are managers in one way or the other. Lets wake up and be good managers and make sure that the money we put into this land is used properly and not swindled by the very people we put our trusts in to take care of us.

Jasmine- I wanna chat with u…….

pallavi_28 – hi wanna chat with me???????????????

Well these are not SMS from my Lover or girlfriends!!! They are messages from a very reputed mobile service provider.

Sometimes when I get these messages I really feel like knowing the faces behind them. Not because I am interested in having a friendship with one but to understand their mental state. I don’t understand how people can write to a complete stranger and ask for their numbers in the very first message. Or for that matter say that they love the other person without even knowing whether they are a man or woman!!!! or if they are old enough to be their grandfather!

(I strongly believe that this is machine generated!!!! I have reasons for that – there are some messages that say “ hi handsum if you love me send me 15 messages that you love me and I will give you my telephone number and address” and why wud someone on the first place need 15 messages to know that the stranger on the other side will write that unless he is a ……..)

And then there are the high end messages - “hi dear kya kar rahe ho??” “mera pati nahin hain….state ke bahar gaye hain…..mein bedroom mein akele houn… kya much se sexy bath karenge?”

My reply to this mess will be-

Arre bhai yeha to apne patni ke sath sexy bath karne ka time nahin hain to phir aap see kaise kare???

Every Christian in India is a 'Hindu'

All this unnecessary furore over burning churches, buildings and bridges! It really is a battle of semantics because when you get down to it, neither Hinduism nor Christianity are religions — both are lifestyles.

The word Hindu comes from Sindu, which is the name for the River Indus. All those living east of the River Sindu were called Hindus. So the word Hindu is a geographical term, not a religious one. The actual religion of the Hindus is the Sanathana Dharma, which means ‘the ancient way of life’ — a combination of faith, duties and one’s vocation. Hindus are required to find their purpose in life and pursue it forever. So in the strict sense of the term, as long as one lives in India and follows any religion of one’s choice, one is still a Hindu.

People genuinely search for god, and when they cannot find god, they seek after gurus who will lead them to god. The word guru refers to a person who brings people from darkness to light. When a person talks about “knowing Christ” (not knowing about Christ), it is a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, accepting Him as Saviour and living life according to His principles, which centre around love and forgiveness. The process has little in common with evident Christianity with its buildings, rites and rituals. To burn a church is a tragic act, however, it does not injure Christ.

Further, it is possible to be a Christian and not know Christ; it is equally possible to be a Hindu and know Christ. Ultimately, who is the true follower of Christ — the Hindu or the Christian? There are thousands of Indians who know Christ but do no want to be known as Christians because of the ‘excess baggage’ that accompanies the term, the pain of the past and the indignities that were imposed on human beings in India by people who called themselves Christian.

In fact, Mahatma Gandhi, when once asked to convert to Christianity, said, “To me, to be a good Hindu also means that I am a good Christian. There is no need for me to join your creed to be a believer in the beauty and teachings of Christ.”

And yet, while it is apparent that most Christians have failed to deliver the gospel message as god intended them to, Christ does not depend on Christians to manifest His divine glory and power. Spiritual people need to believe in Christ and accept Him for what He has done for them and not on what Christians do or do not do.

The genuine follower of Christ in today’s turbulent times in India will not meet the hostility through aggression or through a martyr complex, but will try to undo the damage of the past by living and manifesting the message of the gospel, which when translated into everyday life, is the message of love.

Meanwhile, every Hindu can also realise that responding to the gospel is not a contradiction to the Hindu search for truth because Jesus is the fulfilment of god, of seekers of the Truth right from ancient Vedic times:

Asatoma sat gamaya (Bring me from the unreal to the truth). Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life”;

Tamasoma jyotir gamaya (Bring me from darkness to light). Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life”;

Mrityorma amritam gamaya (Bring me from mortality to immortality). Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”

Hancock Tower

This was one thing I wanted to be on after the Sears Tower.....We went the first day - Me and Binoy, they told us that the visibility was very low so we will not be able to see more than a mile... so we decided to try it the next day.

Next day was bright and sunny and we went up there - 94 Floors!!!!!

And this is a view from up there ........

King Lear

I took this at the Michigan Avenue..... I was reminded of this pic by the movie "The last Lear".

This 20 something feet statue was created by J. Seward Johnson. Looking from afar I thought it was Christ with the crown of thorns on his head... but when i got close and saw it was King Lear. It seems like the statue is looking away from something.. the sun ... the buildings...

Friendship day

My daughter on friendship day!!!! I cant count how many of them she has on her arm!!!!

My son literally was sobbing that he didnt have any friends as his sister had... and so she had to give some of the bands to him so that his "ego" was taken care of!

My Son

I need to add this ... just yesterday my sons school called me and told me that my son was not well and that I need to pick him up from school... I asked my brother to get him home since I was at work... in the evening when i reached my brother place to pick him i saw him enjoying with my brothers kids. I was like - you are sick son!!!

On asking him the reason why he was sick he replies - " the guy sitting next to me was having a stomach ache and crying... so I also started crying!!!!"

Talk about unity in diversity!!!!

Been a long long time.......

Its been a long long time since i last scribbled in any thing....just decided that from today onwards I will dedicate some time to this......
